[Kari was sulking.]
[Or at least, that's certainly what it was, even if she wouldn't admit it to herself. She's been out of sorts since Beardface went home -- the first time someone "close" to her has left Luceti, after over a year of being here. It felt strange, and she wasn't really sure what to do about it. Should she be sad? Angry that he went home while she's still stuck here? Or should she just get over it because that's the nature of this place? She wanted to go home. She could feel it so strongly in every part of her body. And yet no matter how many times she tried, the magic to take her back to her home world just wouldn't work.]
[On the table in her apartment, the notes left to her by the spirit who possessed her body for nearly a week still sat there, staring at her. A voice in the back of her head that she wasn't entirely sure was hers silently urged her to pick them up. She wanted-- no, she needed to be stronger. And if she had to risk a deal with the devil to do it, so be it.]
[Of course, then she finally picks up the notes and realizes they're written in code.]

[Voice - Hoshikyo]
Hello, Lucetizens! Okay, now that I've heard it myself, that's actually kinda terrible... [/ahem]
So, I know that school thing does some kind of class about magic, but I was wondering if there was anyone out there with experience in teaching the more serious stuff. You know, things not related to the filial magic here. Ideally someone with experience dealing with magic that might not come from their own world... but I'm not being terribly picky here.
Of course, I'm not just expecting someone to offer out of the goodness of their own heart or anything. But, I mean, I don't think I have all that much to offer myself, but I'm sure we can figure something out!
[Action - Hoshikyo/Kari]
[Sometime after her journal entry, she reverts back to Kari and goes to the library to get some studying in. She'll need if she's going to figure out exactly what these notes say. Thankfully, it's not entirely code, but the language is pretty heavily ancient. Perhaps if it were written in a nicer hand, it could be picked up by either Luceti's or her own auto-translation power... but for now, it gave her something to do. She's got quite a few stacks of books around her, and no less than 4 open at once. Though every so often, she leans back in her chair with a sigh of frustration. That spirit is a goddamn troll.]
[When she gets too frustrated, she heads over to the battledome as Hoshikyo for some stress-relief. It's been a little while since she's trained proper, so she's a bit rusty -- all the more reason to practice. She'll be focused more on form for her sword fighting, though she may attempt a few tries at magic while she's there.]

[Action - Battledome]
Her attention turns down to the room Hoshikyo is training in.]
[Action - Battledome]
[There are 4 generic-looking soldiers armed with swords around her, programmed to fall back for a few minutes when they get "defeated" before resuming their attack. She blocks an oncoming attack with her sword, which glows brightly for a few moments as she swipes it at her enemy's arm, knocking his weapon away.]
[But as soon as one is taken out, another takes its place, charging at her full speed. But this time, she stands her ground and raises her sword into the air, the glow from before swirling from the tip of the blade to her shoulder with a soft rainbow light. As the soldier is about to strike, beams of light shaped like stars shoot out from the blade and strike the soldier, knocking him flat on his back.]
[But once the glow fades, Kari staggers back and drops her sword, gripping the hand that had been holding it and letting out a short series of what must be very colorful swear words in her world. Unfortunately, the safety feature doesn't protect her from hurting herself.]
[She doesn't stay much longer after that, waving off the soldiers with a "Good game fellas" before walking back into the main lobby.]
[Action - Battledome]
The more she watches, the less she sees Hoshikyo. She sees another blonde girl, knife in hand, moving with deadly grace and agility as she disarms one guard and takes down another.
The magic take snaps Ginia out of her thoughts. She watches with interest until the end of the fight. As Hoshikyo leaves the room, Ginia moves away from the viewing window and takes to the stairs. She writes as she runs down the stairs.
In the lobby, she whistles and waves an arm to Hoshikyo to get her attention. Moving closer, she holds out her notepad for the girl to read, keeping the notepad at a good height so no leaning is required.]
I was watching from the second floor. You fight very well.
[Action - Battledome]
[Though the notebook does make her pause for a bit... but she rolls with it.]
Didn't know I had an audience. Thanks! But I guess I could have ended things a little better than I did there... I'm still working out the kinks on that last move.
[Action - Battledome] Sorry, should have warned character is mute. DX
Was that magic you were using in there?
[Action - Battledome] I remember her from when you were here last time, no worries! <3
[Action - Battledome] Ahah, okay! ^^;;;; <3
I'm only vaguely familiar with the genre I'm afraid, nor can I admit I ever thought I would meet a magical girl here.
[Action - Battledome]
[Seriously, she's hardly the weirdest resident of this village.]
[Action - Battledome]
Do you mind if I ask you some questions about being a magical girl? I'm trying to understand the people here and the worlds they come from.
[That, and there's a familiarity with Natalie Ginia can't shake. How is that poor teen doing...?]
[Action - Battledome]
I'm Hoshikyo. What's your name?
[Action - Battledome]
I'm Ginia. Haurhi mentioned you. SOS-Brigade member?
Head up to the break room upstairs?
[Action - Battledome]
And-- oh! Upstairs, yeah, that'd be good. Can't get in the way of all the muscle-heads down here trying to train.
[Action - Battledome]
Ginia leads the way up, thinking of questions to ask without being too invasive. Once they're up, Ginia grabs two bottles of water from the vending machine and offers one to Hoshikyo.]
[Action - Battledome]
So, what'd you want to ask me about? Obviously anything about my secret identity is off limits, but otherwise, ask away!
[Action - Battledome]
How about the origin of magical girls in your world? Are you the only one or are there others? Do you have a specific task or goal?
[Action - Battledome]
Well, actually, my world used to be pretty normal. No magic or whatever. My magic comes from a different world... though I can't say I know much about how or why it came to me. [Dumb luck, probably. Or bad luck, all things considered.]
I was the only one for awhile, and I'd spend most of my time traveling to other worlds to try and find out about my own powers, and keeping away the weirdos who came to my world looking for them. But now I've got a friend back home with powers kinda like mine, except she kinda becomes a different person when she transforms. Like, two souls one body, kinda deal. But I don't know much about how that happened either. Except that she's apparently been that way since she was little...
[She can't help but sigh a bit at that last part. It's been so long now since she's seen Teruko. And things were still so awkward between them back then... as much as she wouldn't want to see her wind up trapped here, she still can't help but miss her.]
[Action - Battledome]
She pushes her thoughts aside.[
You mentioned traveling worlds. Is that common where you're from or was that only possible after you gained your powers?
[Action - Battledome]
[Action - Battledome]
[Often theorized in books, yes, and there was still the ongoing search for life in the rest of the solar system, but most people saw it as fiction. What would happen if she came back with stories of another world with wings? Get locked up most likely.]
Is there some kind of census or data pool of where people in Luceti originated from?
[Action - Battledome]
[Action - Battledome]
I'll have to go there sometime. I think it would be fascinating reading literature from other worlds.

That is always exciting. I'll have to keep an eye out for some novels from other worlds.
