4TH ☄ s h o o t i n g s t a r ☄ a c t i o n / v o i c e
October 8th
[It's been two days since the spirit, Hoshiko, possessed Kari's body to break the spell that had been controlling her. Now it seemed that spell's presence was weakening in the village, and soon so would the spirit's hold on Kari's body. Her magic was not quite as powerful here in this village, and once it ran out Kari would regain control. It was a shame, really. Hoshiko was just starting to like this body. But there was still much Kari needed to learn, and until those abilities and powers were unlocked, it was rather useless to be wandering around like this. She didn't even have a full understanding of how her powers of time and space worked! How shameful, given how long she's been making use of those powers. Really, she deserved to be trapped in this strange world for such foolishness.]
[But so long as it still has this time, maybe it can do a little something to hurry things along. After leaving a number of notes for Kari when she regains control, it sets out about the village to enjoy its final hours of freedom. Maybe even make a little mischief while it's at it. If Kari became too complacent in this world, she might decide to never leave -- and Hoshiko just can't allow that to happen. It has no intention of rotting away in this dead-end universe forever.]
[So, for anyone who might be a friend of either Kari or Hoshikyo, expect to see "Hoshikyo" making her way over at some point. Though for those with the ability to sense such things, there will be something very different about her. Her magical power feels stronger, and there's an almost evil aura about her, brimming with malice and ill-will. Even just looking at her, there's certainly an odd look in her eyes.]
October 9th
[But come the 9th, things will be different. Kari is forced to come to terms with two painful truths rather suddenly. First, that the spirit who possessed her from before has not only gotten stronger, but is somehow completely aware of everything she does. And second, the fictional paradise that was "Luceti" in Billy's spell wasn't real. Her mother wasn't in Luceti. And as thankful as she was for that, on top of everything else, the sudden realization caused her to break down to tears.]
[She'll spend the rest of her day as herself, trying to find answers and hopefully fix anything the spirit may have ruined. She could only vaguely recall what happened while it was in control during those days. Hopefully nothing else terrible happened. It's only after another day or being out that she comes home and decides to ask something that's been on her mind since she woke up today:]
So. I've got one of those deep questions that people seem to ask on here sometimes. Maybe someone here can help me figure something out.
If you had something really terrible, and no way of getting rid of it yourself, what would you do about it? I mean, like, something that can't be taken away from you, but something that shouldn't be near other people.
[...]
It's kind of a stupid question, so if you've got a stupid answer, lay it on me.

It's kind of a stupid question, so if you've got a stupid answer, lay it on me.
[Voice]
[But that's not what she's here to talk about. Make peace with it? Could she even do that with this thing? Hm.]
Uhm. Well. I can't really say too much about it. But like... what if I had a dog? And that dog was really mean and liked to bite people, including me! I can't just get rid of it, since I'm the one responsible for it. And I can't let it go around biting everyone.
And if it's a really big dog, it'd be pretty hard for me to control it, too.
[That spirit would kick her ass if it could hear her comparing it to a dog right now. She'd better hope her current lack of magic means it's dormant again.]
Re: [Voice]
I believe all beings are capable of learning control over their physiology unless... is this some type of illness? Or perhaps magical? [Because hey, it's luceti. Not the first magical being he's run into.]
[Voice]
Re: [Voice]
I, however, will be of no use to you in that regard.
On the other hand, if you find that you are unable to fine this 'cure', perhaps I can help you control this 'angry dog' with various meditation techniques.
May I inquire as to your name?
[Voice]
I'm Nij-- Kari. Kari Nijihi. [It's hard to tell sometimes what order to give her name in if she can't see an obviously-Japanese face.] And you are?
Re: [Voice]
It is well to make your acquaintance Miss Nijihi.
[Voice]
[No. Way.]
[Sometimes Luceti is awful. In fact, it's awful like most of the time. But then something like this happens and she remembers that sometimes it can be pretty awesome.]
It's. Nice to meet you. Spock.
[Well there's a sentence she never thought she'd say.]
So! Uhm. Those meditation techniques you mentioned?
Re: [Voice]
Of course, I can send you a detailed description of various meditations, however, I believe that meeting in person would be more beneficial. Are you amenable to this?
[Voice]
Y-Yeah, that should be fine. Would meeting at the tea shop be okay? You know, the one above the welcome center?
Re: [Voice/Action]
[Because he was downstairs... he had a permanent spot near the computers these days.
Spock cuts the connection and goes upstairs to sit down at a table in the tea shop.]
[Action]
[The second she walks in, she knows which table he's at without even needing a second glance. Good God, it's seriously Spock just casually sitting at the tea shop. Even if he is a guy, she can't really find it in herself to care.]
Uhm. Hi, Spock?
Re: [Action]
Miss Nijihi, please sit down. Can I get you anything? A hot beverage perhaps?
[Liquids first, then they talk business.]
[Action]
[Which she knows they do, since there's certainly enough Japanese folk in this village to warrant always having a pot of it ready. For now, she takes a seat across from him.]
Re: [Action]
Setting out a cup for her, he pours first her cup... then his own and gently sets the pot back down.]
Now, is there anything more about this illness that you can tell me?
[Action]
[Not even Spock gets to know her secret identity ok.]
By if we can talk in hypotheticals, then hypothetically speaking, it's not really something that can be cured... I mean, I'm not looking for a cure here. Just controlling it.
Re: [Action]
[Spock's brows furrow with slight worry.]
[Action]
[Having her body taken from her was kind of harmful, right?]
Re: [Action]
[You might be able to tell that Spock's trying to ferret out what this is.]
[Action]

If you're trying to play 20 questions with me, you're not going to very far.
Re: [Action]
Perhaps not. But you believe that meditation may work in this case? Perhaps you should consult the resident doctors.
[Action]
Re: [Action]
I will do as much as I can, but it is ultimately up to you to discover your mental capabilities and limitations.
[He hoped he didn't sound harsh...]
[Action]
[She nods.]
This is something I've been dealing with for awhile, so I'm not really expecting a miracle cure overnight. But getting pointed in the right direction is a start.
Re: [Action]
[Spock sips his tea.]
Now, before we get started I must ask if you have any previous experience with meditation.
[Action]
Uhm. Not very much at all, actually.
