[Kari was sulking.]
[Or at least, that's certainly what it was, even if she wouldn't admit it to herself. She's been out of sorts since Beardface went home -- the first time someone "close" to her has left Luceti, after over a year of being here. It felt strange, and she wasn't really sure what to do about it. Should she be sad? Angry that he went home while she's still stuck here? Or should she just get over it because that's the nature of this place? She wanted to go home. She could feel it so strongly in every part of her body. And yet no matter how many times she tried, the magic to take her back to her home world just wouldn't work.]
[On the table in her apartment, the notes left to her by the spirit who possessed her body for nearly a week still sat there, staring at her. A voice in the back of her head that she wasn't entirely sure was hers silently urged her to pick them up. She wanted-- no, she needed to be stronger. And if she had to risk a deal with the devil to do it, so be it.]
[Of course, then she finally picks up the notes and realizes they're written in code.]

[Voice - Hoshikyo]
Hello, Lucetizens! Okay, now that I've heard it myself, that's actually kinda terrible... [/ahem]
So, I know that school thing does some kind of class about magic, but I was wondering if there was anyone out there with experience in teaching the more serious stuff. You know, things not related to the filial magic here. Ideally someone with experience dealing with magic that might not come from their own world... but I'm not being terribly picky here.
Of course, I'm not just expecting someone to offer out of the goodness of their own heart or anything. But, I mean, I don't think I have all that much to offer myself, but I'm sure we can figure something out!
[Action - Hoshikyo/Kari]
[Sometime after her journal entry, she reverts back to Kari and goes to the library to get some studying in. She'll need if she's going to figure out exactly what these notes say. Thankfully, it's not entirely code, but the language is pretty heavily ancient. Perhaps if it were written in a nicer hand, it could be picked up by either Luceti's or her own auto-translation power... but for now, it gave her something to do. She's got quite a few stacks of books around her, and no less than 4 open at once. Though every so often, she leans back in her chair with a sigh of frustration. That spirit is a goddamn troll.]
[When she gets too frustrated, she heads over to the battledome as Hoshikyo for some stress-relief. It's been a little while since she's trained proper, so she's a bit rusty -- all the more reason to practice. She'll be focused more on form for her sword fighting, though she may attempt a few tries at magic while she's there.]

[Action]
[She nods and unslings a heavy, traditional longbow from her shoulder. She hasn't progressed far enough at home to have unlocked the Flame Sniper technique, but thanks to Harry and a few others she's more than able to make up for it.]
I need to stay in shape, and in practice don't I? If I don't, I might get slow. Are you here for the same, then?
[Action]
[Action]
What sort of technique is it?
[Action]
[She looks down at her hand, which doesn't appear to be injured, but the way she's looking at it, it probably is.]
Buuut that much magic makes even the hilt overheat, and I just end up burning myself. It still works, but it's not very graceful to just throw your sword on the ground post-battle, you know?
[Action]
[Mars looks over and inspects the hand as well. Huh.]
Have you tried focusing it, forcing the power to flow up into the blade, away from the hilt?
[Action]
I mean, it's not even really a normal sword. Check this out!
[She takes a step back and casually stretches out her other arm and swipes at it with her sword -- but the blade just passes through as though it weren't even there.]
[...and then she's just gonna keep doing it with a goofy grin on her face.] See, this thing was useless before I actually figured out how it worked!
[Action]
What? Well...that's certainly not a normal sword, no.
Why is it like that? It doesn't seem like it'd be much good in a fight.
[Action]
[She holds the sword towards the ground, a soft rainbow glow running down her arm and then into the blade, causing it to glow. With her other hand, she flicks a finger against the face of the blade -- it makes a soft sound like a wind chime.]
With this, I can cut almost anything. It used to be hard to maintain, but now I can keep it on almost all the time! ...you know, until it gets too hot.
[Action]
[She peers closer, extending her more magical senses, looking at the energy with rather intense scrutiny. She's really curious about what sort of magic it is.]
Have you tried learning magic to protect your hand from heat? That seems like something that's possible, if it's actual physical heat and not something in you like that spirit.
[Action]
[She stops the magic flow into the sword and then brings it up to her side, sliding it into a seemingly invisible sheath as it disappears.]
I'm working on learning more, but it's slow moving. Even just the information I do have about my magic is pretty hard to get through.
[Action]
[She shrugs]
But before that, have you tried using oven mitts?
[Action]
[Can exactly grip the blade safely with all that fabric between her and the hilt.]
I have tried gloves though! It's just. I forget I can't be wearing them when I transform. I'm actually wearing them right now, but they goes somewhere else when I transform. You know how that is...
[The woes of being a magical girl with a magical transformation sequence.]
[Action]
[She totally feels that woe, you have no idea...]
And yes, it's...really inconvenient at times. I don't even get to keep my bow unless I transform before I take it up.
[Action]
[Maybe it is the magic? That would be a whole different problem altogether, though.]
But wait, you mean your bow isn't just part of your regular powers?
[Action]
I know later in life I'm supposed to get an enchanted bow from my powers, because when Queen Serenity was here she commented on it, but...this one is just a regular one that I've enchanted with other magic.
[Action]
[Aaand she may have said a little too much right there. She's gotten so comfortable with knowing Sailor Mars in person now that it's gotten all too easy to forget that she might know more about her than she realizes. Sailor Moon is a classic series back home, after all.]
[Action]
[She pauses, frowning.]
How do you know about that? Honestly, how do you know about me at all?
[Action]
[She's always believed it wasn't a good idea to tell people too much about how the multiverse weaves together... but Luceti itself didn't exactly follow the rules, either. It seemed pretty clear that there was some sort of bigger picture behind everyone being trapped in this place. Proof that even more worlds have become unstable, perhaps?]
[Regardless, it could be of benefit to have more people who know about this stuff. And if it was someone who already trusted her, that might make the process of explaining things a little easier. It was pretty unbelievable, after all, to explain how you grew up watching the life of someone from an entirely different world in a cartoon on TV.]
...it's complicated. Like, "we should find somewhere else to talk about this" complicated. I mean, unless you want the abridged version, but that would probably just result in more questions than answers.
[Action] Sorry this is short...
[Because believe her, she's seen and experienced some serious shit.]
[Action] NO WORRIES I just type a lot!
How about the shrine? Think we'd be able to get some privacy there?
[Action]
[She reaches out a hand to Hoshikyo, and with a whispered word they're both standing under the shrine's gate. Snow flurries up as they do but Rei, now back to normal, is already marching towards the entrance of the main building.]
The fire's warm and everything. I just don't want to walk through all that again.
[Action]
...okay, you've gotta teach me that trick sometime.
[And then she follows in, though she keeps herself as Hoshikyo for now -- she did just finish training after all, and she's not too interested in explaining all this while nursing a few battle wounds.]
[Action]
Helios would be better at it than me. I learned it from him.
[She enters and waves a hand, the flames that were burning low kindling to life with renewed vigor. There are some advantages to being a reincarnated elemental demigod from another planet, after all. If you can't show off a bit, why have the powers at all.]
Have a seat, and please, start the explaining. I can make some tea, since I am guessing you might be a little tired?
[Action]
Okay. So refresh me a little on what you know about other worlds. Or, like, whether you knew about them existing before Luceti at all. It'll give me an idea of where I should start.
[Action]
Well, I knew about the idea of it. Other dimensions and things. I didn't know much, though. Sometimes the others and I would have to find a way between them to fight an enemy.
And then I got here, and...well...you know what it's like here. There are other worlds, certainly. Parallel realities where things are similar but slightly different, or wildly different. Like yours, I believe.
