[Hello, Luceti. Have you been enjoying the strange little time shifts that have been coming and going these past couple of months? Because Kari hasn't. In fact, she's in the middle of one right now, and it's extremely unpleasant. Why is that, you ask?]

[Because she was just inside the elevator when they suddenly decided to not exist anymore. Unfortunately, they only decided to stop existing on the floor she was on at the time, so there's nowhere for her to go. At least it didn't turn into a bottomless elevator shaft to drop her to her doom. But they did turn into some kind of hellish stairway-purgatory with no doors, no windows, and nothing but two sets of stairs going up and down that simply lead to walls.]

[Thankfully, she has her journal with her to live-blog the incident.]

It's been 20 minutes now.
I'm stuck in a building somewhere. Like, literally. The elevator disappeared and now I'm apparently stuck in the wall.
The possibility of escape seems low.
Updates to follow.

The first hour.
There's no windows in here. Not sure how much air I have. Probably a lot.
It's cold. And hot. I'm so hungry.
And I think I left some instant noodles in the microwave.

Hour 2 of Elevator Purgatory.
I'm starting to hear voices.
No, seriously, these walls are way too thin. Maybe if I knock loud enough the people on this floor will start to think the place is haunted?
I'm like this close to trying to break the wall down.

Hour 2 and 10 minutes.
Don't try to punch walls with your bare hands.
Especially using the arm you broke few weeks ago.
It will hurt and you will feel like a dumbass.

Hour 3.
All hope is lost.
I've resigned myself to Elevator Purgatory forever.
Tell my mom I love her.

[Okay she's clearly being a little overly dramatic. But she's bored, and this doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon, so have at it! Feel free to specify what time your character is responding to, otherwise I'll just assume Hour 3. EDIT: And for people who might try teleporting in to save her, there's also a 100% power-cap shift going on inside the room, so anyone who goes in will be stuck with her until the time shift ends!]

Uh... what building is it?

The Heart Building. I'm not totally sure which floor I'm on though. Probably somewhere in the middle?

[Specifically, between the fourth and fifth floor.]

Did the Malnosso like Captain Planet or something... nevermind. I'll be there in a poof! [And so he'll start teleporting his way towards her.]

[Captain What-now? Whatever, as long as she can get out of here quick and easy, she won't complain!]

[And she'll just be sitting against the wall whenever he finds his way in. She might jump a bit if he just appears in front of her though.]

[And so some minutes later, after some trial and error...

He just appears in front of her. With a 'bamf' noise and a cloud of smoke that smells like brimstone to boot.]

Gutentag!

[Yeah, the smoke is none too pleasant, but thankfully they won't be spending much more time in here! ~~Or so they think.~~]

Wow, that fast! You really weren't kidding about the teleporting, huh.

[And she goes ahead and pushes herself to her feet, careful not to stand too fast -- she still moves a little awkwardly after the draft.]

So, you can just poof us out of here now?

Um, sure! [He sticks out a sleeved arm. It's probably worth noting that he's wearing somewhat dated fashion, with his boxers sticking out.] Just grab a hold and we'll be out of here in no time!

[It's more than just dated for her, given she's from around 2050. But she's been to enough worlds and seen enough sights that she's hardly one to judge. With a bit of hesitance, she nods and grabs onto his arm.]

Great! Now get ready to be amazed!

[He says as he... stands still and nothing happens.]

Uhm. So when do we get to the "amazing" part?

It should have happened by now! [He closes his eyes, trying to focus. But it just won't happen. No bamf. It's an odd but familiar feeling, in a dreadful way.]

I'm sure you say that to most girls... [Well if nothing is going to happen, she'll just go ahead and let go of his arm -- and then take a step back, crossing her arms.]

You're not doing this on purpose, are you? I look small, but I could still kick your ass if you're gonna try anything funny.

No, really! [He waves his arms nervously.] I wasn't trying anything funny at all this time! I don't get what's happened!

...so you seriously can't teleport out of here? [That seems rather odd, but he seems honest enough. Really, it's almost as if his power was--]

[Wait.]

You don't think maybe this room has anything to do with it, do you?

Seriously.

[He jumps to the most natural conclusion.]

What? How could it be haunted? People can't die in Luceti, remember?

Well... [blink blink. Then he wiggles his fingers dramatically.] What if they were already a ghost?

...well then that'd be just rude on the Malnosso's part, seeing as they already bring the dead back to life all the time.

[Then again, she wouldn't really put it past them.]

Well, the Malnosso can be rude! And who knows? Maybe he or she likes it better as a ghost! Man, If only we one of those Ouija boards with us!
