[Hello, Luceti. Have you been enjoying the strange little time shifts that have been coming and going these past couple of months? Because Kari hasn't. In fact, she's in the middle of one right now, and it's extremely unpleasant. Why is that, you ask?]
[Because she was just inside the elevator when they suddenly decided to not exist anymore. Unfortunately, they only decided to stop existing on the floor she was on at the time, so there's nowhere for her to go. At least it didn't turn into a bottomless elevator shaft to drop her to her doom. But they did turn into some kind of hellish stairway-purgatory with no doors, no windows, and nothing but two sets of stairs going up and down that simply lead to walls.]
[Thankfully, she has her journal with her to live-blog the incident.]
It's been 20 minutes now.
I'm stuck in a building somewhere. Like, literally. The elevator disappeared and now I'm apparently stuck in the wall.
The possibility of escape seems low.
Updates to follow.
The first hour.
There's no windows in here. Not sure how much air I have. Probably a lot.
It's cold. And hot. I'm so hungry.
And I think I left some instant noodles in the microwave.
Hour 2 of Elevator Purgatory.
I'm starting to hear voices.
No, seriously, these walls are way too thin. Maybe if I knock loud enough the people on this floor will start to think the place is haunted?
I'm like this close to trying to break the wall down.
Hour 2 and 10 minutes.
Don't try to punch walls with your bare hands.
Especially using the arm you broke few weeks ago.
It will hurt and you will feel like a dumbass.
Hour 3.
All hope is lost.
I've resigned myself to Elevator Purgatory forever.
Tell my mom I love her.
[Okay she's clearly being a little overly dramatic. But she's bored, and this doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon, so have at it! Feel free to specify what time your character is responding to, otherwise I'll just assume Hour 3. EDIT: And for people who might try teleporting in to save her, there's also a 100% power-cap shift going on inside the room, so anyone who goes in will be stuck with her until the time shift ends!]

But not all laptops can fit in your pocket! Mine's about [She holds out her hands about a foot and a half.] this big, give or take. The non-flexible screens have better graphics, and usually the larger models are better for games or streaming.

You can watch movies on that?

It doesn't happen to be able to blast walls while we're at it? Non-magically.
[Action]
[Just try and figure out if she's joking.]
And even if it could, I'm not really sure how stable the floor is here. I mean, there's probably just nothing but an elevator shaft above and below us.

[ Well maybe not quite years. He probably got hungry during one experiment or another where he was turned human, but most of those came pre-bundled with Shift-induced prior meals, or at the least immediate presentation of a buffet.
The headache probably has to do with blood sugar. ]

[She does still consider this to be her fault that he's stuck in here, after all. And seeing as she's still recovering from some of those injuries she got on the draft, she doesn't really go far without something on hand. That's the reason she was taking the elevator instead of the stairs in the first place.]
[Action]
He presses his hand to his forehead and makes a soft sound of frustration. ]
I want to be out of here.
[ Yes Josh that was pretty clear already. ]
[Action]
[Or is it?]
[Because as soon as she finishes her sentence, the room shakes a bit, and then starts moving up and making sounds not unlike an actual elevator would, were they actually in an elevator.]
[The room stops just as soon as it started on a given floor with a soft chime, and the sound of elevator doors opening on the other side of the drywall can be heard... but the room is still very much a stairwell. And powers are still very much restricted.]
...seriously??
[Action]
But they don't.
And then they still don't.
But then his patience runs out, and he reaches for powers he doesn't have, one Shift away from taking out a good chunk of the elevator shaft. But nothing responds, nothing, and he gracefully handles his frustration by all but slamming his fist into the wall against his back. ]

[...]
Okay. I'm done playing the waiting game here. Hold on.
[She knocks on the wall again in a few more spots before taking a few steps back... and then, hiking up her skirt, she lifts her leg and strongly kicks back against the wall. Unlike before, where the walls of the elevator shaft around them were too strong to even make a dent, the thin wall in front of the door was pretty much just for decoration at this point -- nothing but cheap drywall. The wall shudders and cracks, and as she kicks it again, this time a hole opens up around her leg, making an opening just big enough to crawl out of.]
[...thank god she's never threatened to kick Joshua, huh.]
Th-there. That should do it.
[Action]
Being human makes him so much more uncomfortable than he wants to admit. ]
... Can you get out through that?
[Action]
[And then kicks it again for good measure, opening it a bit more. At least right now, the adrenaline is keeping her body from protesting too much at all the sudden movements.]
Well, I won't know unless I try. [And she's just going to climb in head-first and start awkwardly trying to crawl through--]
[But not before there's the familiar sound of elevators doors closing, followed by a jolt and a series of muffled but very colorful swear words from Kari.]
[And then, with nothing outside to grab onto for support, she just kind of slips through the hole and onto the ground outside with a very ungraceful thud.]
[...give her a minute.]
[Action]
Well?
[ Is he going to die if he tries to follow you because he doesn't want to die but he would kind of love to be out of here ten minutes ago. ]
[Action]
Step back a bit. I'm gonna cut the rest of the wall down.
[THE WALL NEEDS TO BE TAUGHT A LESSON.]
