[Hello, Luceti. Have you been enjoying the strange little time shifts that have been coming and going these past couple of months? Because Kari hasn't. In fact, she's in the middle of one right now, and it's extremely unpleasant. Why is that, you ask?]
[Because she was just inside the elevator when they suddenly decided to not exist anymore. Unfortunately, they only decided to stop existing on the floor she was on at the time, so there's nowhere for her to go. At least it didn't turn into a bottomless elevator shaft to drop her to her doom. But they did turn into some kind of hellish stairway-purgatory with no doors, no windows, and nothing but two sets of stairs going up and down that simply lead to walls.]
[Thankfully, she has her journal with her to live-blog the incident.]
It's been 20 minutes now.
I'm stuck in a building somewhere. Like, literally. The elevator disappeared and now I'm apparently stuck in the wall.
The possibility of escape seems low.
Updates to follow.
The first hour.
There's no windows in here. Not sure how much air I have. Probably a lot.
It's cold. And hot. I'm so hungry.
And I think I left some instant noodles in the microwave.
Hour 2 of Elevator Purgatory.
I'm starting to hear voices.
No, seriously, these walls are way too thin. Maybe if I knock loud enough the people on this floor will start to think the place is haunted?
I'm like this close to trying to break the wall down.
Hour 2 and 10 minutes.
Don't try to punch walls with your bare hands.
Especially using the arm you broke few weeks ago.
It will hurt and you will feel like a dumbass.
Hour 3.
All hope is lost.
I've resigned myself to Elevator Purgatory forever.
Tell my mom I love her.
[Okay she's clearly being a little overly dramatic. But she's bored, and this doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon, so have at it! Feel free to specify what time your character is responding to, otherwise I'll just assume Hour 3. EDIT: And for people who might try teleporting in to save her, there's also a 100% power-cap shift going on inside the room, so anyone who goes in will be stuck with her until the time shift ends!]

[ He keeps walking, this time heading towards the furthest corner from her. He's not expecting to find the edge of it but dammit he can try. ]
The kind that cancels out supernatural powers.
[Action]
[Oh. Oh no. The reality of just what that means is starting to sink in. She takes a few steps back.]
...please tell me you're joking.
[Action]
[ Meanwhile he'll just settle back in this corner and make himself comfortable. ]
Did you really not think to check?
[Action]
[...she thinks so, at least. But then, it's also never lasted more than a hour. So that alone was pretty strange.]
[Action]
[Action]
[Which is just another terrible reminder that oh, she's really stuck in here. With Joshua of all people.]
[She scoots over to the furthest she can get from him, nearly going down the down-set of useless stairs still left in the strange room.]
[Action]
[ It's okay, Kari, Joshua looks just about as happy with this situation as you do. Unfortunately, he masks his unease with turning up the jerk 400%
Things he does not like? Include being vulnerable. ]
[Action]
[She huffs and turns around. At least he brought her food so she doesn't have to suffer and go hungry.]
[Action]
[Action]
[As if Joshua needs more excuses to not do nice things.]
[Action]
If this is karma, I think it squarely missed the mark on this one.
[Action]
[What the hell is this guy anyway?]
[Action]
Not really. It gets annoying when I don't in Luceti, but as far as I can tell it isn't the sort of thing that would kill me.
Perhaps if we're lucky, the Shift will disappear before I start actually starving.
[Action]
And. I mean. The possibility of being stuck here longer than that doesn't seem too likely.

[After a few awkward moments of silence, she sighs and then puts the cup of udon back on the ground, pushing it out towards Joshua before sitting back upright.]
...go ahead and eat it. It's my fault you're stuck in here. So the least I can do is not let you go hungry, right?
[Action]
[ And he pauses to let her redact her offer before he slowly moves to take it anyway.
"Yet" it may be but he doesn't know how long that will hold. ]
You started counting when this began, correct? So it's been around three and a half hours now?
[Action]
Around there, yeah. I've been stuck in the elevator like this before a few times. But I think the longest time before this was just two hours.
[Action]
I've seen one of these sorts of Shifts that lasted around four hours, but it was only the one. [ He gives a small huff under his breath. ] And it was much less frustrating than this one.
[Action]
[But okay, maybe if they think of it like there's only 30 minutes left of this to deal with, it won't be so bad?]
[Except a lot can happen in 30 minutes and Kari probably trusts Joshua about as much as he's apparently trusting her right now, given the way they're both pretty much resigned to their own respective corners.]
[...uncomfortably long silence begins now.]
[Action]
And a few minutes after it does, Joshua will go for his cell phone. He doesn't have reception--he never does, except when he's generating it himself, and that's not exactly a skill he keeps while human--but he can still play around on it to stave off the discomfort that comes with the situation. ]
